Mary Margaret "Tootsie" Bolton, 47, resident of Alicia Lane, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017 after a brief illness at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church with Reverend Chris Bowhay officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorials be made to the "Tootsie's Bears" Memorial for critical care children to receive a comforting teddy bear upon their admission to Maury Regional Medical Center. Contributions may be made to "Tootsie's Bears" at First Farmers and Merchants Bank, 816 South Garden Street, Columbia, TN 38401 or St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 311 West 7th Street, Columbia, TN 38401. Born October 13, 1969 in Memphis, Tennessee, she was the daughter of Richard Allen Bolton and Diane Dealy Bolton. Mary Margaret was in one of the first special education classes at McDowell Elementary School and also attended J.R. Baker Elementary School and J.E. Woodard Elementary School. Although Mary Margaret's disability set limits in what she could accomplish, her life was a gift of inspiration to bring out the best in those who knew her. Her love of life called many good people to devote their lives to service and awareness of the needs of others. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother, Benjamin Richard Bolton of Nashville

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lt. Col. Jack Dealy and Kitty Dealy Brown; and Reverend Robert A. Bolton and Margaret Bolton.

Active pallbearers will be Zeke Maddux, John Williams, James H. "Chipper" Jones, III, Brooks Jones, Leigh Jones, John Satterwhite, and Argie Satterwhite. Honorary pallbearers include Sherry Maddux Shouse, Gretchen Vire, Dr. Taylor Rayburn, Dr. Bob Thompson, and Dr. Steve Simmons.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the Maury Regional Medical Center Critical Care Unit Staff and Nurses, Dr. Maura Lipp, Dr. Thomas Quinn, Dr. Christopher Edwards, and Dr. Cheryl Clayton.
